New Beginnings at 40
I want to invite you along on my journey at 40 and see how I evolve with the times and all the new beginnings it brings. Hang on for wistful memories of times that now seem better or simpler as they will find their way into my journey as a 40-year-old. Things like records, CDs, a little 8 track tape days and film in a camera and top of the list family dinners and family gatherings, you know, remember where cousins got together and played and were one another’s first best friends, the old ways. You will be wist away also as we encounter some nostalgia in my journey to new beginnings.

Follow me as I start taking classes in a community college for an associate degree at 40 instead of outta high school or in my younger years. Let’s address the first question. Is 40 to old? Some think it is, like the saying goes “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” but I can speak from personal experience, it is not too old to start earning your degree and I have been around some older dogs who have learned a new thing or two.
Welcome,
Stay tuned in for just a little layout and background before diving into the present adventures of the journey.
I have taken some pretty good photos through the years, with cameras. I have used my cell phone for all the photos taken in the last several years. (Android Samsung Galaxy up to the Galaxy S9+) I had thought a lot about getting into film development, I thought it seemed like a fun and interesting process. But who knew or even considered back in the 90’s where we would be today in the digital world we are findin ourselves in. Now I am putting some education to back the process for the purpose of adding some confidence as I start Time Travel Photography & Designs. (I’ve went to a iPhone 16 Pro Max, so photos I will be taking will be with that device now, I am also learning a Nikon camera so some photos maybe show up from that also).
I decided to go towards an associate degree in IT. (Information Science Technology) Originally, because I wanted to get into coding to build websites from the backside. I also want to design websites and do some graphic designing. These are the reasons I chose to pursue a degree. Along the way, I have discovered an associate’s degree is not geared the direction specific I wanted to learn. The classes I am taking provides insights into so many other opportunities I had not considered as options. Hence the blogging website emerged as I took English Comp 1 and had to write for the class assignments.
The next opportunity that peeked my interest, which I hadn’t considered before taking classes in other areas of technology was building and repairing computers, laptops & phones. The experience I have setting up family and friend’s offices and problem-solving their technical difficulties. Still not a fan of software issues, even though that is a big opportunity to specialize in. One other option that presented itself is programming, which actually is striking my mind, maybe later I will look a little more into that path.
So the college experience, all online, has been eye-opening, widening my horizons for pursuing my entrepreneurship. As I get ready to start another semester, I am gearing up to put what I am learning into action.
So, what is our goal here? My goal here is to share my journey as it shows you what to do or not to do and be a successful entrepreneur. Don’t be disheartened if you too are pursuing new beginnings at 40.
